Not understanding how an inactive gas line can leak that much gas.
oh ok, thanks for explaining that.You have to maintain high pressure inside the pipeline because of water pressure outside. So even if gas isn't flowing out of the end, the pipe is still full of gas and will take a while to empty.
They're also going to keep it pressurized until they can find every single leak.
